Anyone attempting to get in direct contact with Prima will more than likely be using his Acolyte to request it. A slim drone as silver as its master, it moves with a purposeful bearing and seems to always be attending some job or another, but it seems willing enough to spare a few moments.

You have one representing each of my kin? [he regards McCrane seriously in this. if this was a matter of oversight...]

Before Vector spoke to you, we discussed it between ourselves. What it would take for us to grant to you such responsibility, and short of severe crimes as murder, minimal influence by us. As a matter of courtesy we would like to know what punishment are intended, but...

[he shakes his head]

You ask for autonomy. We ask for supervision and the right of intercession. I do not think it a large thing to ask for.

[he pauses, here, fingers tapping on the railing of the window as he chooses his next words]

I do not...agree with Megatronus' decision. I understand it, but Overlord is dangerous. [he makes a slight face] I am forced to trust Megatronus can control him. If nothing else, Megatronus is even more so.

[dangerous, that is.]

But it is because I trust him in this matter, because he is as near to my equal as any can be, because I respect his judgement that we avoid war. I, too, have heard its stories. And while we do not dismiss them lightly, they are still...other stories.

We do not intend to make the mistakes in them.

[mccrane]

[He thinks hard on this, going over the list from Blurr...and then looks up, realizing something.] We do not. We have almost all represented, but...I don't know what we're supposed to do if no one comes forward. [It wasn't like they could force someone to be on the committee, or a part of the police.] I don't think any of us could stand by and let crimes be committed just because we were lacking a member...

...and what would we do, if someone's alignment changed? [He points at his own Glyph, which has not been the same since he arrived.]

[Still, he listens to Prima, because what the Firstforged is saying is reasonable, and Prima is giving him the same courtesy. It's comforting, in a way, to have that protocol to fall back on.]

We are just worried. I know you trust Megatronus Prime, but...with what he did, it has been hard for all of us to trust you.

[That was the big problem, right now.]

If we can be granted this autonomy...I think that would help.

It's not fair to ask of you, but is it fair for you to ask us to concede when there is no representation?

This is not an easy situation. Please, do not think I am assuming it to be. Perhaps if one could be with you in another position, if not directly upon this law committee...

[he trails off, looking down at the Glyph. there's...a faint note of approval there. apparently, he likes what he sees.]

In your case...the changes yours show implies that the connection between us has strengthened to a noticeable level. You are still of mine, and still my representative. If one's Glyph were to change completely, to one of my other brothers'...

[he considers]

I think we would not ask they be replaced, but effort given to finding another representative.

I am willing to find a compromise, McCrane, but I will not concede to one that does not fulfill what we have already decided - not without giving my brothers another chance to discuss it. I know this damages the trust between us and you, but...should I damage the trust between us, instead?

[mccrane]

I believe it is less the fairness, and more the fact that we'd not finished constructing a committee before one of yours interfered. There should have been some notice given.

[He shakes his head.]

Something to indicate that we aren't always at the mercy of your whims.

[Because it terrified him, the way Overlord was released. The way they could do nothing about it. What you're suggesting he does like, though, so he nods.] I'll speak to Blurr and to Ultra Magnus. We may at least be able to find a stand in to approve the laws, even if it is the committee who makes them.

Would this be enough? I don't want you at odds with your brothers...and...I think it's important you all agree on this. With us, as well as with each other.

[When he notices Prima looking at his Glyph, he reaches to cover it...feeling almost a little embarrassed. It takes him a moment to pull his fingers away.] Those changes are something else I want to talk to you about. If you have time.

Whims.

[at that, he shakes his own head, looking away from the Glyph.]

We are not your overlords. We are not your tyrants. We do not force you to fight for us against the Badlands, we do not slave you to tasks we feel are below our attention...

[he's not outright /offended/, but that may have been a poor word choice, McCrane.]

I know you are troubled by his release. I know why. But if Megatronus has no other option to deal with his own...

[he lets that trail off. McCrane can understand what he's implying there, surely. the representation is more than just representation, in the long run...]

I think it would satisfy, so long as they were granted a voice in revising them as well. And for this, I will make time.

[mccrane]

[He takes a step back at that word, feeling...something. It isn't anger, but it makes him nervous nonetheless, and reminds him of why these beings hold dominion here.]

I know.

[When he speaks again, it is softer.]

But if I were in trouble of my own making, Prima--I should be responsible for that. So should Overlord. So...should Megatronus. [He finally manages to look up, again, that last part said the most carefully.]

I know we need you to get home. I just want to be able to come to a compromise. I want to trust you. That's...why I had to come.

[Because he needs to know who he's defending, when he speaks to those that are unsure.]

I think if we make this agreement--if we all make this agreement--things will be better.

[He feels a little better, just having talked about it.]

I still don't entirely understand most of this, though. Why is my Glyph changing? Does it have to do with the strange ball of light I saw?

[Prima's quiet for a bit...and then takes a step. a slow one, with a look down at McCrane in clear invitation - or expectation.

We are in this together - Refugee, Firstforged, all of us are intertwined. This is not simply a matter of you needing us - your own actions have an effect, as well. Which may be part of the reason Megatronus took action. Indefinite imprisonment...may not be the best choice.

But I agree that we should compromise. We do want you satisfied here, while you are here. And I think that granting you this autonomy would be a great step in this direction.

I do not want you to fear us. [it's spoken a bit quieter.] I would like your respect, but fear...

[another shake of the head, and he moves to the next subject.]

The longer a Refugee is here, the greater a connection they can have with one of us. This connection shows itself in different ways, but the most obvious is a reflection of our power.

[he holds up a hand, palm up, and a small sphere of light forms in it.]

Did this 'strange ball of light' look like this?

[mccrane]

That will be good to know, when talking to the Law Committee. Are there any other regulations they should know?

[If they couldn't do long-term imprisonment, they'd have to work around that to come up with something else. McCrane is confident that they'll be able to do that, though.]

With what we've talked about, I think you have my respect sir. [He's appreciated that you listened to him, and gave him clear goals.]

[It's a bit daunting to walk along with you, though, but he also does not dare refuse. This is the chain-of-command, and he respects that, too.]

I...yes. It looked exactly like that, but smaller.

[He's more than a bit awed at how you just produced that out of thin air, though magic isn't unheard of on his Earth. Usually, it involves a lot of chanting, though.]

This is part of what you were referring to, isn't it. About how our actions have an effect?

[He looks up at you past the ball, curious.]

I am glad I do. [and he is. respect is something, as said, he far prefers over fear. and certainly prefers over anything else...]

I think that will be a start. I would offer more, but without another meeting of my brothers, I will not speak for anything we have not already agreed on.

[he flexes his fingers, then lowers his hand. the orb stays in slow orbit around his wrist.]

It is. In short, you've gleaned some of my power - enough for it to begin to manifest. Given time, should the connection between us stay, you will gain more and more.

[mccrane]

Then I will tell the Law Committee to contact you once they've made a decision.

[It was the best possible outcome he could have hoped for, and it's taken a lot off his mind.]

McCrane's question...earns a thin smile, tiny and almost not there at all. how to answer that...]

It all matters on how you use it. It could help you with any number of things - if you chose to use it in such a way. For now, it is a simple thing. But something being simple does not make it useless.

No, sir, it does not. This will come in handy.

[He watches how you wield it, and how effortless it seems. For him, it is still awe-inspiring.]

How did I receive it, though? I do not understand...

It is related to the Glyphs. May I see yours?

[Prima halts at this point, kneeling down slowly]

[mccrane]

Of course.

[He turns so that it can be seen better, watching Prima as he crouches. The size of the Firstforged has always been a bit intimidating...but he imagines this must be what it's like for humans around the Brave Police.]

[slowly, Prima reaches to point at the white design]

The connection between us is invisible, intangible - but is reflected by this Mark. Its design denotes how well we have... synchronized. One affects the other. And when a threshold has been crossed, something else transfers across that link - tangible power.

Do you understand, so far?

[mccrane]

I do.

[Looking down to his mark, it was a curiosity for him. Normally, he would be attempting to consider what source was providing the transmission between them, but this glyph did not seem to have any attributes beyond its glowing shape. There was nothing that could transmit, or receive, and yet a connection was happening regardless.]

What do you receive from me, in return?

An ally. [Prima makes to stand there, his piece said.] With the world how it is, all such are welcome.

[mccrane]

It is my duty to preserve the peace. I have no reason not to ally with you.

[He bows his head politely.]

But it is still our choice, isn't it? If we wish to do so or not?

[primianpolarity]

It is. Forcing you to commit to us would be the same as Unicron's forcing of you to be his.

[mccrane]

Which...if I am to understand correctly? He will be attempting to do regardless?

[It made the alliance that Prima was referencing suddenly make sense.]
